The Hangover and That Which Followed

Let me just state this as clearly as possible: The Hangover is a great fucking film!

I was blown away by the absurdity of it all. But what mattered most was the fact that they sustained the ridiculousness throughout the entirety of the film and the jokes were all on point. Mike Epps random appearance was not as potent as I hoped it would be, but that was probably the only pseudo-low point in the film for me.

Also, if you haven't seen the film yet, just know that the slide show at the very end will put a smile on your face for at least a week.

In an effort to recreate but a tiny slither of the greatness depicted in the film, I gathered a few colleagues at my place of residence to see how alcohol could help the evening unfold. The last few weekends have involved some very promising drink experimentation. It started with whiskey and apple juice (thanks Rihanna). Then we moved on to boxed sangria with a little bit of vanilla vodka to top it off.

Last night, my latest greatest creation was born: Arizona Plum Green Tea mixed with Belvedere Vodka.

4 parts Arizona Plum Green Tea
1 part Vodka (but who are we kidding, pour to taste)

Essential that you have a shaker for this drink and you use lots of ice to get it chilled just right. Otherwise, pouring warm vodka into chilled tea could greatly alter the outcome.

Later I was also introduced to two additional drinks: the oatmeal raisin cookie and the bank statement.

We went hard. Nothing magical happened, but we did everything in our power to create an atmosphere conducive to magical happenings. A grossly unnecessary trip to Dennys and a great car ride home made for another moving evening in Downtown Sunnyvale.

Damn, I wish SF wasn't so far away...
