Triflin', But He Takes A Bath Everyday

Al Sharpton is in the news again. And fortunately, he's not announcing another bid for the White House.

Unfortunately, word is that Mr. Sharpton tried to extort half-a-millie from hip hop icon Dr. Dre. Apparently, the request came right around the time when 50 Cent was feuding with The Game. In exchange for not taking the issue to the streets and calling for an end to all the nonsense in hip hop, Sharpton felt that $500,000 would suffice.

Unfortunately, this is all hearsay and Mr. Sharpton has quickly come out and denied the accusations. Yet, this is something that I could very easily see Mr. Sharpton doing. He already has a sketchy past and is known most for his ridiculous hair and his for-hire mentality that he takes into race based issues. If I'm not mistaken, there are even some videos floating out there on which Sharpton was talking about laundering drug money.

Mr. Sharpton likely has his heart in the right place, but even that is debatable. It is sad that such a prominent Black figure would resort to extortion. He has the potential to make a positive impact. But from my angle, he's taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back every time he makes it into the news headlines.

I hope you didn't give him the money Dre. The 50 and Game drama worked itself out anyway...
